The urgent meeting with the member organization of DPNet-Nepal on 1st April 2019 decided to establish a coordination and communication desk at Bara district in coordination with DiMaNN, NCDMC and other stakeholders
Bara, Nepal - In response to the devastating storm that struck Bara and Parsa districts, an emergency meeting was held on April 1st, bringing together member networks of DPNet, DiMaNN, NCDMC, and various stakeholders. The meeting resulted in the establishment of a 'Coordination and Communication Desk' in the Bara District to streamline relief efforts and prevent duplication.
With its’ aim to discuss the relief, rescue and way forward regarding the massive storm that claimed 27 lives, leaving 400 people injured on 31st March 2019, the urgent meeting was organized by DPNet-Nepal on 1st April 2019.
DPNet-Nepal as a secretariat of National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR) chaired by Secretary of Ministry Home Affairs, organized the NPDRR meeting on 31st December 2018.
One of the major themes of DPNet-Nepal is Knowledge Management. As a part of knowledge management DPNet-Nepal organizes monthly learning sharing workshops, policy dialogue publication of IEC materials and translation of national and international documents on DRR in its annual plan.
