  Jan 29, 2026

January 29, 2026: Kathmandu, Nepal — DPNet Nepal has formally called for expert inputs to support the integration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change agendas into the political party manifestos of Nepal. This initiative aims to ensure that future political commitments are risk-informed, climate-resilient, inclusive, and aligned with sustainable development priorities.

Through this call, DPNet Nepal invites experts, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and development professionals to share their insights on the key components that should be incorporated into political party manifestos. The collected inputs will contribute to the development of evidence-based, actionable, and inclusive policy commitments that strengthen community resilience, promote climate change adaptation and mitigation, and reduce disaster risks across sectors.

Specifically, DPNet Nepal seeks recommendations on priority thematic areas, policy measures, institutional arrangements, financing mechanisms, and accountability frameworks that can guide political parties in mainstreaming DRR and climate change agendas effectively. The initiative emphasizes the importance of translating scientific knowledge, field experience, and community perspectives into practical political commitments.

The consultation process is being conducted through DPNet Nepal’s Virtual DRR platform, enabling wider participation and inclusive engagement of stakeholders from across the country and beyond.
