Kathmandu, 25 June 2026 : A joint meeting between the Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal (DPNet Nepal), its advisors and Executive Committee members, and the leadership team of the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) was held at the NRCS Building in Kathmandu.
The meeting, conducted from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, focused on contemporary disaster risk reduction issues, priorities for monsoon preparedness, and opportunities for strengthening institutional collaboration between DPNet Nepal and NRCS.
Participants discussed the need for enhanced coordination, timely information sharing, community-level preparedness, and effective mobilization of networks and resources during the monsoon season. The discussions also explored potential areas of cooperation in disaster preparedness, emergency response, capacity building, knowledge management, and policy engagement.
The meeting provided an important platform for DPNet Nepal representatives to engage with the new leadership of NRCS and identify opportunities for closer collaboration in advancing disaster risk reduction and resilience-building initiatives across Nepal.
Both organizations expressed their commitment to continuing dialogue and working together to strengthen preparedness and coordinated disaster response.
