Disaster Preparedness Network-Nepal (DPNet), established in 1996, stands as a key national umbrella organization dedicated to enhancing disaster management in Nepal through a unified approach involving national and international agencies. The core focus of DPNet is on fostering coordination, collaboration, learning, and sharing of experiences in strengthening disaster management practices. The organization plays a crucial role in knowledge management, capacity building, policy advocacy, and in facilitating networking among government and relevant stakeholders.
DPNet Nepal, in its role as the Secretariat of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR), successfully organized an online consultation meeting on the draft Monsoon Preparedness and Response Plan (MPRP) 2083 with the participation of NPDRR thematic groups, DPNet advisors, members, government representatives, humanitarian agencies, and development partners.
Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal (DPNet Nepal), in collaboration with NAXA and partner organizations, successfully organized a half-day workshop on “AI-Enabled Disaster Damage Assessment in Nepal: Current Status, Challenges, and Co-Designing a Practical Way Forward” at Square Hotel, Lalitpur.
