Multi Hazard Assessment and Vulnerability Mapping of Sindhupalchowk District


The Bagmati Province in central Nepal, particularly the Sindhupalchok district, is prone to various natural disasters, including earthquakes, floods, landslides, and epidemics. Despite government initiatives, challenges persist in terms of infrastructure development and overall resilience. The study focuses on seismic activity in Sindhupalchok over the past decade, highlighting the region's vulnerability to recurrent disasters. Milam Village is prone to earthquakes and has experienced significant events like the 2015 Gorkha earthquake. The analysis maps the seismic vulnerability of the area, emphasizing the need for disaster preparedness and mitigation measures. The report underscores the importance of comprehensive research and preparedness to address the ongoing threat of earthquakes, floods, and related hazards in the region.
