Urban Risk Management and Preparedness for Response Lessons from the Kathmandu Valley

Summary

This presentation is a study of part of the process of building a primary evidence base by documenting BRC operational learning through in-depth, field-based case studies. The main objective of this study was to improve the understanding of NRCS, BRC, and external partners about the challenges and opportunities in the community and National Society engagement in risk management and preparedness for large, sudden-onset urban responses. Provide support to the existing EPS program, policies, and practices within the Kathmandu Valley, focusing on embedding, training, and learning activities.
