Summary

This proceeding covers the Third National Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, held on 26–27 December 2024 at Kathmandu, organized by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority in coordination with DPNet Nepal and the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, and chaired by Dr. Raju Thapa, Chairperson of DPNet Nepal. Framed by the theme “Monsoon 2024 and Beyond: Turning Lessons into Resilient Strategies,” it brought together government agencies, UN and development partners, INGOs and NGOs, academia, media, the private sector, and disaster-affected communities to review monsoon impacts, share evidence and best practices, and shape policy and program recommendations that strengthen preparedness, early warning, inclusive risk governance, and recovery while informing Nepal’s engagement in GPDRR 2025. The conference was made possible with the support of numerous partner organizations acknowledged in the publication.
