This quarterly report highlights DPNet Nepal’s key engagements from March to April 2025, focusing on strengthening provincial disaster governance, anticipatory action, and inclusive climate resilience. From March 4–19, DPNet facilitated the first Provincial General Assemblies in Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Koshi Provinces, forming new leadership committees and promoting the establishment of Provincial Platforms for Disaster Risk Reduction (PPDRR). On March 5, a learning-sharing workshop in Dhangadhi, organized with MoIAL Sudurpashchim, showcased anticipatory action practices and emphasized improved forecasting, early financing, and policy integration for DRR and climate adaptation. On March 12, DiMaNN was re-nominated as NGO Sectoral Group Coordinator under NPDRR, with stakeholders endorsing a joint roster and forming a thematic working group to strengthen coordination and advocacy. A provincial dialogue on March 16 addressed climate impacts on the Raute community, recommending culturally sensitive strategies including the establishment of a Raute Corridor, mobile services, and sustainable tourism. On March 21, DPNet congratulated Mr. Dinesh Bhatta on his appointment as Executive Chief of NDRRMA and submitted strategic recommendations for institutional strengthening and early GPDRR preparations. On April 27, DPNet co-hosted a high-level DRR dialogue with the Home Minister, resulting in a commitment to institutionalize monthly consultations, strengthen early warning systems, and collaborate with Google on earthquake alerts. These engagements demonstrate DPNet’s continued leadership in promoting inclusive, localized, and coordinated DRR and climate resilience efforts across Nepal.
