A Rapid Survey: Role of Social Organizations in the COVID-19 Pandemic, 2021 (कोभिड १९ महामारीमा सामाजिक संघ संस्थाहरुको भूमिका द्रुत सर्वेक्षण, २०७८)

Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic, originating from China's Hubei province, has impacted the world, causing over 4.6 million deaths globally as of September 2021. In Nepal, the virus led to significant challenges in health, social, and economic sectors. Social organizations have played a crucial role in providing direct support to affected individuals and families. Gas Association Nepal conducted a survey involving 64 social organizations, showcasing their contributions in health security material distribution, food distribution, awareness campaigns, mental health support, isolation center establishment, help desk operations, provision of health equipment, and overall management of holding centers. The survey also addressed their experiences in human rights and governance during the crisis. The collective efforts of non-governmental organizations have been vital in responding to the multifaceted impact of the pandemic in Nepal.
