Impact of Disasters on Child Stunting in Nepal

Summary

This paper examines the influence of disasters on the nutritional health of children. The research revealed that floods have a significant impact on child stunting. Specifically, children aged 6–11 months, unvaccinated children, children of working women, children living in mountainous regions, and those from the poorest households were more susceptible to moderate stunting. Similarly, children aged 36–47 months, belonging to Dalit and other ethnic groups, residing in rural areas, and coming from the poorest households faced a higher likelihood of severe stunting.
