GIS Based Landslide Susceptibility Mapping using a Fuzzy Logic Approach: A Case Study from Ghurmi-Dhad Khola Area, Eastern Nepal

Summary

This paper applied fuzzy logic to assess landslide susceptibility in the Ghurmi-Dhad Khola area of Eastern Nepal, considering seven factors slope angle, distance from drainage, land use, geology, distance from faults and folds, and soil and rock type. Landslides have been causing significant loss of life and property in the Nepal Himalayas. Mathematical models were developed in the late 1980s for landslide susceptibility mapping in Nepal.
